We are spirits, my friends

In Buddhism, it is believed that the soul is tied to the earth realm for 49 days. During this period, the living persons are to lead a virtuous life by mediating on Buddha, doing charitable work, thinking good thoughts and engaging in spiritual practices. This is to gain merits for the dead to a better rebirth.
Rebirth? Resurrection? This is one of the few niggling curiosities I have.

54 days has passed and yet the turbulence in my heart remains.
Finding peace from her absence is so arduous a toil. Those who are near can probably discern my calmness as that before the storm.

Perhaps, this is a radical solution for those who share the same sentiments.
"See ourselves as spiritual beings going through an earthly phase."

Moving on may therefore be easier.
So, heaven isn't a place on earth?

  1. I dont think that is at all a radical solution. There's truth in the statement 'we are spirits moving through an earthly space'. I think the dilemma/pain/ache persist because of the lack of a definitive answer or a tangible reply to where/how a person is after he/she passes on.

It will forever be an unanswered question unless you just choose to simply, - Believe.

'Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the convinction of things not seen.' Plus a healthy respect for a higher power & His all knowing wisdom and control over everything, our hearts will one day rest, only, - in Him.
